Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement and IoT Business
July 13th, 2016

On Monday, July 11, the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and Canada was signed. To celebrate this occasion, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Ukrainian politicians and industries representatives at “Sophia in Kyiv” National Preserve to network and discuss hot issues.
Grossum was among the few invited IT companies and our Business Development manager represented our company at the event. Rt. Hon. Trudeau once again reminded about the fact that Canada is looking forward to working with the Ukraine in such areas as information and communication technologies, agriculture, energy, defense and security, infrastructure and logistics, and aerospace.
"The Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement represents a significant milestone in the relationship between Canada and Ukraine. It will bolster our economies, spur innovation, and lead to long-term benefits for the middle class and those working hard to join it." - Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada
Ukraine has been called the “Breadbasket of Europe” for a long time and it’s true. There are quite a lot of innovations that are being done in the crossroads of agriculture and IT. For example, Grossum IoT experts have been working on developing software and hardware for measuring grain temperature distribution in granaries.
The special features help to find out exact temperature using a branched system of several ranks of sensor modules that allow receiving temperature data from 10,000 sensors. The process takes about 10 seconds and branches of sensors are activated in a sequence that allows to optimize the energy consumption and prevent the system from overloading. Thanks to this, the granary technicians know the state of each of the silos in almost real-time mode and perform actions to prevent grain from suffering from overheating, mold, high or low humidity, or other threats.
